What's the difference between Seattle and Salt Lake City?

There are many differences, of course, but here's one you might not know. In Seattle, there are nearly 45% more dogs than children. In Salt Lake City, there are nearly 19% more kids than dogs. --Liberal extinction? - Cary Politics

Your Say

As I grow towards old age here in Salt Lake City, there is one more feature of a childless existence that I never thought about earlier in my life.

Having no children cuts you off from those who do have children. There is no commonality of experience with them. Having dogs, and I do, is wonderful. I love my dogs, but they are no substitute for children, or grand children. They say that everybody has a purpose.

Perhaps mine is to serve as a warning to those who would emulate my choices. In any case, don't cry for me Argentina. My sentiments can be served up alongside those of Robert Falcon Scott. "We took risks, we knew we took them. Things have come out against us, therefore we have no cause for complaint."
