Well, at least he wouldn't be in it for the money.

Just how rich is Mitt Romney? Add up the wealth of the last eight presidents, from Richard Nixon to Barack Obama. Then double that number. Now you’re in Romney territory.
He would be among the richest presidents in American history if elected – probably in the top four. He couldn’t top George Washington who, with nearly 60,000 acres and more than 300 slaves, is considered the big daddy of presidential wealth. After that, it gets complicated... Your Say

The first W wasn't rich. Slavery wasn't profitable for the big planter or the small. Jefferson was always bordering on bankruptcy.

You could trade one acre of land in the North for nine in the South, and land was cheap in the North. In Virginia just after W's time, the profit from slavery came from raising slaves for sale to suckers in other states, and W wasn't a seller.

Does this mean that Mitt would be the first successful business man who has run for the office. That is really kind of amazing in and of itself. Of course if Lurch had been elected in 2004, he and his drunken spouse would have been by far the richest couple.

Willard a successful business man? Not if you count inherited wealth.

Now if you want to speculate on Presidents who have been members of cults...

Washington had to borrow money to go to his own inauguration in NYC. Rich? That is a Howard Zinn-fueled canard that the "Nation" is, naturally, continuing to push out.

Gerard, why are you quoting that stupid lying rag without qualification?

Let's elect him just to see Occupy's reaction.

Even Romney's baggage is good for the economy. What better anti-Obama candidate could we find?

And don't say Ron Paul.
