Pissing on the Pentagon

Not unreasonably, serving soldiers are weary of unwon wars — of going to war with everything except war aims and strategic clarity.
I would hazard that the recent video of U.S. Marines urinating on Taliban corpses is a coarser comment on the same psychosis, and the folly of fighting a determined and murderous enemy by distributing to your officers bulk orders of that charlatan’s bestseller Three Cups of Tea. There is a logical progression from three cups of sweet tea to those acts of micturition that the Pentagon would do well to ponder. -- Mark Steyn - National Review Online

Or, as Doug Ross puts it: "Just so I get this straight: defecating on a police car is patriotic; peeing on terrorist murderers un-American."

Your Say

Those marines should just apply for an NEA grant and show the video on PBS. Problem solved.

Google The “Forward Strategy for Failure" and "No Substitute for Victory”: The Defeat of Islamic Totalitarianism" at The Objective Standard.

We've replaced victory and self-preservation with the foreign policy equivalent of the ACLU's exaggeration of criminal rights. We've exaggerated aspects of Just War Theory so as to never win a war again. Do you want to play by the rules or remove the threat? You can't do both and there are no short-cuts or compromises. If you aren't willing to obliterate all traces of your enemy you don't deserve to win against him. Only after your enemy is groveling and conquered do you show the first bit of kindness.

The enemy chooses to fight undercover and behind civilians. The civilians choose not to point out the enemy in their midst. The enemy doesn't observe rules of war, everyone has chosen sides so they deserve to get their consequences.

Total War ended the US Civil War, and it was the best thing that happened to The South because it ended the fantasy of an evil way. We've lost our courage and think we can always remove the unpleasant elements of any situation.

The Civil War was about States Rights and the railroad rights of way. Slavery no matter where practiced is a losing economic position. Think not, examine any Socialist Government, extinct or current.

We'll have another civil war here to restore America. Only then will reality intrude on our daily life.

Anyone taking up a collection to send those Marines some beer? The better for peeing. I'll contribute.
