We’re on I-95, and she unhooks the pole, and she’s holding the morphine bag over her head with her gown that’s flying up in the air so you could see her entire naked, bony body with the morphine bag whipping in the wind, and we’re passing by these guys in their Lamborghinis, and I’m looking at them like, What the hell kind of life are you living? Well, they're together now. What a great memory for him, I hope it made his health issues easier to bear. Looks like it did.

I believe people who suffer from GoodPerson Fever have holes in themselves they can't ever fill, because they missed experiences just like this one. Maybe they passed up an opportunity. I feel badly for them, because you see it really is a fever...they indulge these empty little rituals, to try to fill the hole, and a few minutes later they have to do it again because the hole hasn't been filled. They live out their entire lives this way, making rules about hybrid cars and eco-cups and other such balderdash. Poor, pitiful wretches.

"Well, they're together now."

How do you know that? In fact, I'd bet against it. We all have moments of enlightenment, but few chose to follow the path. Having merely done a kindness is not the sum of the way that leads to salvation, nor is dying a miserable death.

Casca, what the hell are you talking about? Believe me, they're together now.

Thank you Gerard. I needed a good hard cry first thing in the morning. (Really, I did!)
