"America is returning to its traditional attitude in favor of private gun ownership."

And arguments that gun control leads to less crime are foundering on stubborn facts:
Though Americans own more guns than ever, crime is down. Meanwhile, in places that have engaged in gun prohibition, like Britain, crime — including gun crime — has gone way up. Shockingly, it turns out criminals are no more likely to obey gun laws than other laws. --Glenn Reynolds, Record check an ineffective nuisance

Your Say

The anti-2nd Amendment Brady Campaign has a system of rating states based on the level of their suppression of Constitutional rights. When you map the FBI uniform crime reporting violent crime rate to the Brady ratings, it turns out that the states with less than average Brady ratings have lower average rates of violent crime.

The difference is small, but if gun control worked, you'd think there would be a notable reduction in violent crime in those states which ignore the 2nd Amendment and limit the right to keep and bear arms.

That gun control doesn't reduce violent crime never stopped the Brady's from trying to strip you of your rights.

Turns out the same is true for murder rates (with firearms). Gun control is more about control than it is about guns, and the gun-grabbers want to disarm you, and could care less whether or not the criminals are disarmed.

You will find that the gun-grabbers for the most part live in guarded, gated communities. Or like the 'important' anti-pistol poobahs, have CCP's because they're, well, 'important'.

The rotund Rosie O. has armed bodyguards, since she wouldn't dain to touch a gun.
