Tebowing

beatlesteabow.jpg

Tebowing is defined as "to get down on a knee and start praying, even if everyone else around you is doing something completely different." More examples at Tebowing.com

Your Say

(I don't follow football and don't care, but...)

Why mock this kid? At least he gives credit to his teammates and refuses to give himself credit. He does charity in his spare time. He doesn't waste himself with booze and women! Wasn't that an admirable quality not long ago? I watched Knute Rockne, All-American a couple of weeks ago. In those times, Tebow's qualities were not "odd" or a cause for mockery or, ahem, "concern".

Another question. What are the Broncos going to do if Tebow takes them straight to the Super Bowl? What if? What if they win the Super Bowl - because of him?!? What are the Broncos coaches, players, and all his critics going to do - will that make their heads explode because they won't be able to rid themselves of him - ever?

I don't know the future and who knows if the Broncos go all the way, Tebow or not, but... Everyone better be careful whom they mock. They might not know what hit them if all of that happens!

I don't think this is mocking at all. I think it is a kind of homage. Of course that means that you have to know what is in the heart of those sending in the pictures, but I think in most cases it is good hearted at the very least.

I'm all for a fad that results in more people praying. That would be more useful than ... what's that other pastime called? planking? the straight-and-stiff-as-a-board thing ... whatever. But it would be sad if the practice became empty motions, a mere aping of what Tebow does.

I don't follow sports all that much. Did I hear that Tebow is being criticized for something? If so, what's the rationale?

Are they mocking Tebow or mocking God ?

Ck the scoreboard when time has expired in the forth quarter.

It gets worse, Gerald.

Via Ace, this (ahem) idiot (because he needs to be called one!) wrote">http://www.thejewishweek.com/editorial_opinion/opinion/my_tim_tebow_problem">wrote in an Editorial column that he fears a Tebow Super Bowl win would cause "riots and mayhem", the "burning of synagogues and mosques", etc. caused by Christians!!!

This man is being reprimanded properly in the Comments section because of it - as he deserves.

I'm so sorry I botched my A HREF code! Sniff...

Deep convictions such as Tebow's scare the hell out of the OWS types since their deeply held beliefs are grounded in slogans.
Is there a 101-102 course in bumper stickers they're required to take?

Tebow is genuine grade A material. Nothing nauseates me more than watching a liberal movie star, narcissistic by trade, giving thanks to "The Big Guy upstairs" or some bling crusted pervert do the same at the MTV awards show. What's more offensive?

Here is the link newton tried to post. I also saw it last night. Apparently, if the Broncos win the Super Bowl, there will be a wave of Christian pogroms the likes of which America has never seen.
