Why do the journalists and professors so fervently believe in things they cannot possibly verify on their own?

Deep in their heart, many of these pundits or English professors or whatnot realize they don't know much, nor are their skills that valuable.
They are important only as courtiers for the Knowledge Class. Anything that threatens its perceived hegemony is a threat to these hangers-on, even the journalists. And the only way they see to prove their loyalty to their masters in the New Class is to make a rabid defense of its dogmas. So the journalists and others on the low rungs of the Knowledge class defend the dogma. And of course this also goes for the dogma of Keynes, and multiculturalism, and much else. And it goes to self-image too. They see themselves as Obama: a bright, arrogant fellow content to spin words and theories, separated from those (wrinkle nose) facts and people. -- To repeat: another warmist scam

Your Say

National decline is a feature, not a bug, of the Liberal Operating System.

As Dennis Prager has taught me, once you understand Liberals as religious fanatics the world comes into focus. They never examine their premise. They dispatch heretics in a nano-second. Lock-step conformity is the minimum requirement for membership. They compete with each other to see who can best deny reality. Once you understand this point all of their hypocrisy fits into one simple pattern.

At their core they are fundamentally dishonest. Just listen to the rare liberal caller to a conservative radio show. Universally, they begin with a contemptuous accusation. Then they misquote the host (you said every single Liberal is a terrorist and traitor), and then they make a more ridiculous charge (you said welfare is destructive as if you want everyone to starve to death). This dishonesty comes from lying about the reality so they can lay blame at the feet of their enemy. First they hate America, then they find an accusation. The more hate they have for America the wilder the accusation must be to justify their hate.

Facts are a bourgeois construct that limits their hate so facts are discarded for the larger truth. Telling facts to a liberal is like telling an anorexic to eat a sandwich. The condition exists because the reality was first swept from their mind. Facts are the one thing that can't work to persuade a liberal. Conservatives are so pragmatic they think saying more facts, or saying them louder, or saying them in just the right way will persuade liberals. That's no more possible than trying to argue someone out of love. The better technique is to show how liberals are racist, hurt the poor, choose death, etc. Make the emotional accusation and then ask them questions which cause them to see, for the first time, their ideas are racist and destructive.
