In "1984" it is pointed out that "victory is never the object in these continuous wars."
Please remember that victory in 2011 is no longer considered a desired outcome for sending Americans to fight and die overseas.

Here is the problem. Russia is undergoing demographic implosion. All of the territory in the world won't help if there is no one to exploit or defend it.
