Yet how odd to imagine their lot under a Chavez or a Castro or a Stalin. I always figured Spielberg would be perfectly happy making propaganda films. No doubt many others in Hollywood would adjust without difficulty. I don't think free speech holds any real attraction for the current crop of directors. Money, though, that's something else...

Just remember, to these people Joseph Stalin was lovable uncle Joe but Joseph McCarthy was the devil incarnate. McCarthy had nothing to do with investigating Hollywood, but they still call it McCarthyism.
