"Unreality is an especially disturbing symptom."

When Jimmy Hoffa threatens the non-unionists, one imagines that Detroit is building better, safer, more reliable cars at a better price and has for decades. When Barack Obama urges the Black Caucus to march for equality, and adopts the cadences and pose of a 1960 Civil Right leader, one would think the Right-wing in Florida just picked Bull Connor, not Herman Cain, as their straw poll winner. When the third-generation, hip spokesman for La Raza talks about inequality one would think she herself just crossed the border from Oaxaca, forced to flee a benevolent Mexico to work in the pits of an American Mordor. -- Works and Days サ Why Does the Good Life End?

My daughter, Emily gave me Orwell's "Why I Write" this evening as a gift. She read that passage to me, and I thought, "Wait a minute, I read that just an hour ago!"

The most important thing to know about Liberals is that any argument they take and any principle they pretend to believe in is taken for one purpose. The purpose of every liberal demand, idea, position is to make their opponent weaker or put them on defensive.

As obvious as the above is when it's pointed out 99.9% of Conservatives fall for the bait every time and engage the Liberal on the specifics of the point or position. It's not about the facts, the principle, the rules we must observe. It's about does that Liberal position mean you give up power or not.

Liberals are comfortable being for or against stomping on puppies. If they are for it it is because it puts Conservatives on defense or makes Conservatives appear to be the enemy. Remember, Liberals overturned Welfare Reform which put 50-75% of poor people into jobs. Liberals defend state-run schools which condemn generations to ignorance and dependence. Liberals protect the rights of toads and cockroaches yet are no more than agnostic as to the rights of an unborn child.

Stop being a sucker and arguing with Liberals about the outlines of their latest stupid demand. They will be against that demand in a few days or few months, whenever the time is right.

Get in their face and punch back twice as hard.
