“I’m not leaving, and by the way I’m hungry,”

President George W. Bush said on September 13, 2001, when he was told there was a credible threat to the White House. He ordered a cheeseburger. -- Locusts, Cilantro, Elvis Presley - Lapham’s Quarterly

Your Say

When I was stationed at ft Jackson in the early 80s, for some reason the post got a rash of phoned-in bomb threats over a few months.

One call actually connected somehow with the phone on the desk of the major general commanding. When he answered the phone a voice said that there was a bomb in his office that would go off soon.

The CG snarled, "Go eff yourself!" and slammed the phone down.

The CG wasn't alone in his office when this happened, so word got out.
