"This is the hill to die on"

One of the greatest lines I get told by so-called moderate Republicans
about almost anything you talk about is always, “This isn’t the hill to die on. This isn’t the hill to die on, this isn’t the hill to die on.” You have this conversation with them for two hours and you realize you’re already 15 hills back from where you were. This, America, is the hill to die on. If you cannot defend and save a half millennium of western liberty and progress and prosperity on this hill, there is no other hill to die on anywhere on the planet. -- Mark Steyn

Your Say

Nominal conservatives won't even risk being impolite. They prefer to crow about picking up their trash than calling the people that kill this country "trash."

They refuse to engage liberals in daily life, they avoid liberals by moving away, keeping quiet, changing schools/careers, and then they wonder how liberals took over everything.

Stop playing by Mayberry Rules. They people that value Mayberry Rules are already conservatives. Liberals play by Prison Rules. Prison Rules trump Mayberry rules every time. Be a citizen, not a passenger.

Mark Steyn had me at hello! British expatriates are fighting harder for us than we are, people! Wtf?

There is only one Party in the United States. That is the one that is in POWER; it has two sections.

All the arm waving and posturing is crap. When the GOP had the reins, they made no real changes.

Forget the platitudes, the pious resolve. They're not going to upset the Welfare class. All are captive to their policies; they fear riots.

The Middle Class needs to vote in the TEA Party in numbers that makes change irresistible.

Real conservatives need to shame nominal conservatives for not fighting. Call in to conservative radio shows and ask why the host is trying to convince conservatives to be conservatives, using conservative arguments? Don't just practice being outraged, fight back. Don't just huff or scowl or shake your head. Learn your arguments, and shame the liberals and the lazy. The liberals and the lazy aren't ignorant of the facts, they play ignorant to have an excuse for inaction.

If you can't take over for your favorite talk show host, pastor, or columnist you aren't pulling your weight in the culture war. If you learn 4 arguments you will be 3.5 arguments ahead of 90% of the population.

"You have a republic if you can keep it."
