Nothing is "Shovel Ready" Anymore
What we have now are "keyboard ready" projects:contracts that start armies of already-employed white collar bureaucrats pushing proposals and specifications around in dizzy little circles. Not much comes out in the way of jobs â but money is spent, briefs are filed, and emails fly. He's describing the Department of Circomlocution from "Little Doritt."
I myself am a circomlocutor drone, for which I am paid, if not handsomely, than at least well above the national median. I assist circomlocutors in their pseudo-important tasks, and they praise me for my skill. I smile and have another cookie.
Circomlocution City, on the banks of the Potomac, is a very busy, self-important place, although I fail to grasp the importance; I just want the paycheck.
If you suckers, who have already figured out the scam, find a way to put an end to all this, I will be fine; my skills are transferrable to non-circumlocutor environments. The circomlocutors, on the other hand, will have to open up hot dog stands.
