It's Time to Make Teachers the Butt of All Those Sex Abuse Wisecracks We've Been Hearing for, What?, 30 Years Now

Move over, Padre, there's a new class of perverts in town (and they've got a union!):“Sexual abuse of students in schools is likely more than 100 times the abuse by priests” | Wizbang

My brother was a teacher, working in a private Lutheran school that educated and housed students who were from abusive homes. All boys. He started out teaching there because he really wanted to be a mentor to these boys, but found out quickly how evil just propagates itself.
Most of these boys had been sexually abused. They were almost all black, from homes headed by an unmarried woman, with siblings from different fathers. The abuser tended to be a mother's boyfriend who would abuse the kids sexually. With or without mom's knowledge.
The kids whom he tried to help were experts on manipulating the system. All they had to do was accuse someone of abusing them, and a teacher's career would be over. That is what happened with my brother when he tried to discipline a violent boy. My brother got fired, and the boy hasn't learned anything that would get him through in life but to accuse.
I note that the pictures of the abusing teachers in this case are all young, pretty women. Perhaps it isn't a good idea to put young women in teaching posts where adolescent boys are likely to be abused.

I am at a loss to figure out what the sexual appeal of teenage boys is to anyone. Most of the ones I see are all elbows, adam's apples and acne. Add the that texting and baggy pants or pencil pants and emo hair. Ugh.

Children in general have such a huge ick factor that any man or woman who finds children as objects of sexual desire vexes me most sorely.

Yes, but you see, you can't slam the Catholic Church if you can't paint all priests as child molesters.

As Jewel says, these days, all it takes is an accusation to end someone's career. Even if there is no actual evidence to back it up, teacher or priest.
