The Deeper Signal Inside the Dick Slip

If there is any long term significance to the Halperin story it is a possible indicator that the governing narrative is weakening.
Sovietologists have long known that the first, and often fatal signs of a factional distress are the unguarded lapses in "reliable"€ organs of information. A political enterprise is in real distress, not when it is attacked by its enemies which is normal, but when it can no longer be praised by its friends. And when those friends must deliver praise or respect through gritted teeth then the incipient trouble is all the greater. -- Belmont Club » The Seven Second Solution

Your Say

I think this seeing liberal defeat on the horizon because one of the usual suspects let slip a remark is just wishful thinking. It's like predicting Obamcare's defeat because there is certain language that has always caused Blue Dog Democrats of the past to withhold support.

The liberals will not give up their hold around the neck of the US until we forcefully and painfully pry their fingers from it. The liberals won't recognize they are unpopular and surrender. The liberals won't recognize their positions are ruinous and surrender. The liberals won't recognize their positions are giving aid and comfort to the enemy and surrender. They always just redefine or minimize the real harm they are doing and tell normal people they are weird for not understanding the nuance of the smartest policy ever devised.

We aren't really talking about liberals here, are we Scott M? Aren't we really dealing about fascist, leftist, lunatic fringe types who have been supported by the media unquestioningly and whom at least one of the mainstream media talking heads is sick of? You're right that there are probably not a lot of others yet, but one crack in the dam may yield disaster for the fascists so long supported by the media.

St Thor, I use the word liberal like I use "Pro-Life." That's what "they" call themselves and that is the word most people know "them" by.

Yes, of course they are not liberal but fascist. And yes, there are particular media figures that on occasion admit the truth. But the sad truth is most people get their "news" from whatever the fascists decide to promote. Even Fox is mostly just a conservative patina painted onto the liberal menu of news stories. The 40% of Americans supporting Obama and the next fascist emperor, and the one after that, and the one after that are immune from facts.

The vast audience of TV watchers are watching TV because they don't want to know what's going on, they want to know what the other idiots around them are interested in. 40 plus years of media malpractice may shrink the audience but the audience still won't reach a conclusion about the media, not a conclusion that leads to action. The audience is retreating into entertainment.

Yes, it's possible that the idiot watchng Morning Schmoe will reevaluate liberal ideology, but not likely. The idiot wouldn't be watching Morning Schmoe if he was susceptible to reason. Also the liberal Ministry of Truth won't distribute the Halperin moment and the people that understand the truth of the Halperin moment already knew it before it happened.

Conservatives are so desperate to see cracks in the edifice that every event is the precursor to the final victory which hasn't happened. Why don't we wait for a real victory and turning back to hordes before we see a victory.

Is Halperin going to screw up and utter the truth again?
