Crazy, psycho, nuts, junkie Kennedy is for more understanding for assassins that shoot political leaders in the head

Creepiest Kennedy yet. His father's son in all things: Patrick Kennedy Expresses Sympathy For Accused Gabrielle Giffords Shooter

In an interview with Dr. Sanjay Gupta, former U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.) argued that Jared Loughner deserves sympathy for his apparent mental problems. Loughner is the 22-year-old man charged in the Jan. 8 shooting in Tucson, Ariz. that killed six people and left Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) with a traumatic brain injury.
"It's an irony," Kennedy told Gupta, "but we think no stigma towards Gabby and her brain injury, but [Loughner] has a brain injury as well, because clearly his brain was not working properly when he picked up that gun and shot all those people."
"We failed as a society," he added, "because every time we see someone who's -- and we use the pejorative words -- 'crazy,' 'psycho,' 'nuts,' we look the other way."
This from a professional Democrat junkie who's been in and out of rehab more frequently than a crack whore.

Your Say

Here in Australia, after initial misinformation, we were belatedly informed that the shooter was not a tea-partier.

Not mentioned at all in our media was that Giffords was a Jew by descent and sincere conviction, and that she was a staunch defender of Israel. Our betters felt, perhaps, that we could not be trusted with such knowledge.

After all, if Israel is to be pushed back to its previous indefensible borders, a certain discretion will be required from the media. Some vague Kennedy compassion toward the shooter should satisfy the luvvies of the Left and - who knows? - attract some Stormfront voters to the Democrat cause.

Too bad Oprah is over. It would have been a real tear-jerker and ratings sweep if she could have had a touching reunion show with "Uncle" Sirhan Sirhan and Bobby Kennedy's children. A glorious opportunity for healing wasted. What a shame.

I'm sure that Kennedy is perfectly OK with passing laws that prohibit sane people from owning guns.

Yes, have compassion and understanding, Patrick, on the likes of Sirhan Sirhan and J.H. Oswald, eh?

Why, oh why, couldn't it have been kennedy instead of Giffords? Maybe that clan would take a hint after three times...

From what little I have read and heard about this man it would certainly appear that he is not in possession of all his faculties. Mental illness is certainly a terrible ordeal and I do have a certain compassion for anyone who suffers from it. That said, this man was and is a dangerous threat and should not be allowed to act out his murderous fantasies. And if there was a failure- and there certainly appears to have been one - it is not "society's" but the local sheriff's. From what I have read this sheriff's dept. had been alerted to Loughner and there was cause to believe he might be dangerous. Rather than "serve and protect" (or whatever the high-minded motto is down there) the sheriff took no effective action. But after the crime he was quick to blame inanimate objects (guns) and innocent people (conservatives of various sorts) for the attack.

I thought Patrick Kennedy WAS a crack whore.

The aphorism, "It all depends on whose ox is being gored" seems applicable here.
