Now, Make SURE Those Papal Indulgences Aren't Forged.

Keep in mind that some governments are requiring those indulgences carbon credits, and assigning them actual value.

Richard Fernandez:
Suppose the company’s offices had been in Geneva, Brussels or New York? If Mr. Goldsworthy could have produced studies certified by the United Nations, would everything have been OK? There are no official or agreed standards in the voluntary carbon trading market. If you pay for something that makes you feel better, you get your money’s worth.

Creepy.

Your Say

Next up “organic” food. Can you tell the difference between “organic” milk and inorganic milk?

I thought so.

My bet is that the only differences are the carton and the price.

Do not allow the greenies to use their new made-up phrase "climate change" without challenge. Global warming was the raison d'etre for all the BS regulations and carbon scams, not "climate change". If there is no testable and repeatable methodology for the verification of the progressives' hypothesis, then it cannot be proven. No methodology has been proposed and the only evidence presented has been from data sets which were prescreened for the desired outcome. Allowing progressives to change from "global warming" to "climate change", in order to justify a plan that will have no effect other than placing our money into their pockets, is irresponsible behavior. Besides, the amount of CO2 proposed for removal from the atmosphere by new regulation is laughably inadequate to have any real effect on climate.

PS. In regard to the first comment, organic used to mean "containing carbon" (or relating to living organisms, which all happen to contain carbon on this planet). Somehow, we've allowed that to become twisted as well. If you poured crude oil into your milk, it would still be organic.

Here in PA we can buy raw milk. Organic can mean anything, and so-called organic milk is pasturized, homogenized and everythingelse ized.

Organic doesn't seem to mean raw.

Negotiable carbon credits...
Bernie Madoff would have loved it!

Carbon Credits:

If you give me money for saying I'll plant a tree in a desert, I'll send you a certificate absolving you of responsibility for driving your SUV to the next several Potlucks To Save The Planet.

Only a liberal.

Maybe the progs could do something useful, like passing a law that we don't have to cut our lawns if we feel that they are absorbing additional CO2. And we won't have to run our lawnmowers and generate CO2 either. WINNING.

Why not pass a law that we don't have to work. No commuting means no gas usage, no CO2 pollution, no traffic jams and a real drop in electric power usage.

All can stay home get FREE meals, TV, Internet, debit cards, housing and ruby slippers.

Best of all: No TAXES. The Proggy Wizards can figure out how to do this; everyone is equal, no rich.

I was in Costa Rica a couple of years ago and was subjected to a lecture about the way Costa Rica was attacking global warming by selling carbon credits. They have declared their country a "green" zone. Meaning that they will not cut down forests nor allow any industry that emits CO2. Thus they have lots of "unused carbon." They hope to become a huge exporter of Carbon Credits and get rich.

Yes, they're quite serious. Papal indulgences dolled up in saving the planet.

Peccable - A large portion of the progressive voting bloc knows that such laws have already been enacted. WELFARE. The recipients don't have to worry about their carbon footprint, because others are forced to pay for it. Vote accordingly.
