Neither Blonde Nor Female

moz-screenshot.jpg

These contractors are installing steel pillars in concrete to stop vehicles from parking on the pavement outside a Sports Bar in downtown Philly. They are now in the process of cleaning up at the end of the day and anxious to go home.

How long do you think it'll be before they realize where they parked their truck?

Your Say

Quick-set cement, you think?

Being blonde and female...even I wouldn't have done that.

The only people qualified to do this are government issue.

Usually those bollards are screwed or pinned into the base and can easily be removed.

Brought to you by AFSCME local # 2187. Look for the union label!

I presume these bollards of which you speak are the contractors. Unpin steel ball, replace with facsimile of human head and re-pin. Works for me.

Geez, did anyone noticed the width of the van and the width of the space between the bollards? The van can easily back up between the two bollards to the back left of the van to exit the space. You people spend too much damn time on the Internet! (me too I suppose ;)

I first saw that picture several years ago--said then to be in England.

Since there has never been any post-event follow-up, I assume it turned out in the no-big-deal group.

While snopes.com proved themselves absolutely unreliable in the US political area, I still trust them in not-obviously-political arenas....

For goodness sake all you literalists, get with the program: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tiOMu_Bf8Q

You nailed that one "right between the eyes" Michelle's Mirror.

Oh, and Eric...I think geez is actually spelled jeez.

As Jewel notes, you can move these bollards-- most often, there's one or two made to be easily removed for moving trucks, and close access to the building.

MOTUS, you may have inadvertently created a test of figurative blondeness, measuring one's ability to appreciate the humor of this without out-thinking it, ironically. Literal blondeness is way more fun, though few in the public sector can afford it in this economy.

correction: few in the private sector can afford literal blondeness in this economy, but I have a feeling the public unions would consider it it a right. Nothing worse than a teacher with dark roots.
