"Fuck you, Shep. Fuck you and fuck your purple prose."

Shepard Smith, Live From Tokyo
“. . . blackouts across this nation . . . epic earthquake . . . monster tsunami . . . nightmare scene from Hell . . . . a quickly growing humanitarian crisis . . . an economy teetering on the brink of collapse . . .”

Your Say

Shep was one of the primary instigators of Katrina hysteria. Good to see he hasn't lost his chops.

I still can't believe that FOXNEWS gave that not-so-closeted liberal a new contract.

If you watch TV news you deserve to be confused, misled, and hysterical.

Watch CSPAN, or read books and magazines, the more specialized the better. What you miss in the "current news you can use" you make up for in depth. Then when the topic you were reading in depth shows up in the TV "news" you'll see how hyperinflated and baseless it really is.

Most stories on TV were really news about 3 days ago, but TV pretends it's breaking news about as fast as they can get a star anchor on scene. Being a infovore I marvel at how long ago I first saw news online, in a newspaper, heard on the radio, and the delay before I becomes "breaking news" on TV.

TV stars spend more time learning exactly how to nod during the intro from the studio to look attentive than they do on learning any topic. They are all chimps worthy of no attention.

Shep is one of those freaks of nature perfectly suited to his medium. Born plastic. He's always been too creepy for flesh and blood mortals like me. I can't bear watching him. His soulless eyes, his fake baritone plastic voice. And, as someone wittier put it: His hair. He is truly a vapid hairpiece.

One surmises that he heard about the public baths. That, and the opportunity for his eyes to become tumescent with teary compassion while channeling the Grandmothers of America.

When I think of Hell, I think of the rape of Nanking. Karma sucks, or so they say. As Malcolm Muggeridge liked to point out, "God must surely have a sense of humor. How else could he tolerate the eternal soap opera of human existence?"

He was always my least favorite of the Stooges.

Give him a set of boobs and a skirt so he can fill in for Megan when she heads of to the delivery room in a couple of weeks. A sac jac will get that Barry-Tone up two registers.

I like Shepard Smith.

I actually think what makes so many hate him is why I like him. He is not smooth and silky like the consummate pricks Dan Rather or Walter Cronkite. He sometimes makes you think he is a Lib but I would bet you he voted for McCain.

He doesn't try and sell you soft on an issue. He likes people. I personally saw him in New Orleans during Katrina. He was there in a serious way. The Fox crew were helping do real stuff and he was in the thick of it.

He was and I think is, a stand up guy.

I do not have a TV. Do not miss anything on TV. I do recall watching Shep on Fox News prior to September 2008 and always thought he was a plastic clone of Governor Rick Perry.

Shepherd Smith is a lead contributor to why FNC lost viewers last year. Yes, you heard that right, they lost viewers in 2010.

Actually, all the cable news networks did, but FNC's proportional loss was greater than CNN's.

Got rid of cable last December. Wish I had done it sooner.

Hubs was really bitching about this tonight. I avoid Shep and he's the only one on Fox I avoid. Bret Baier is my man.
