The first problem is quarantining the country for enough time for them to shake the habit. Then there are the atomic bombs they will want to build. This strikes me as a very bad idea.

We should've nuked the hell out of Afghanistan, Iran, Syria and Riyadh on Sept 12. There is still time and we should still do it.
Give up this GD fantasy of waging war, but in a way where we are loved. Break all of their Moon God worshiping shit and promise them there is a glass parking lot in their future if they so much as fart, and then do it.
None of our candy ass politicians is willing to miss a dinner invitation from from Brookings dweeb to save 10,000 lives of Americans and you ought to know that by now.
Check out The Objective Standard for why the most humane and effective war is a total war that resolves the problem. It worked in Germany and Japan. It worked on the American South. And the Muslims are especially suited to this approach.

Civilians always get the worst end of the stick in a war; I see no reason that shouldn't be the case in Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Pakistan or any other outhouse of a country that wants to yank it's dick.
Let them get pissed with the Mullahs/Imams and their God Moloch. Pain is cathartic, especially when the other person feels it.

The Western/US distinction made between the government of Crapistan" and the people of Crapistan is the poison that allows the self-crippled form of war to no conclusion.
As Egypt is proving, if the people of Crapistan get motivated they will throw away the government of Crapistan. When our enemies attack us, our only approach should be to bring holy hell onto the nation of Crapistan such that the peope of Crapistan quickly understand they have to overthrow the government and surrender. Any stupid argument about civilizing the war effort by avoiding this or that target only signals to the Crapistanis that they need only wait for us to get tired of kicking them in the nuts, they need not make any permanent change.
Rebuilding Crapistan is their problem, and if they allow radicals to rebuild Crapistan 2.0 then we lay waste to it again in the most convenient manner including radioactive hell delivered by god from above.
Gen Sherman, and others since, have proven that this approach works. It's quicker and more humane than this retarded partial way of war. And our politicians are willing to turn every conflict into a thousand year management program rather than hear one dishonest social scientists disagree. We may have to replace our government if they won't kill our enemies.
