Headless Body in Topless Bar

...and so of course, they're apparently trying to find one to run.

I think conservatives need to avoid the mistake of 2008. Too many conservatives, rather than looking for the best conservative candidate, frantically tried to find a good-enough candidate we should all support immediately.

We will pick another loser, perhaps the loser who lost to the guy that lost to Obambi, if we use the 2008 strategy. Instead we should encourage everyone to run, debate often, and decide late. A true leader will rise to the top. If we try to quickly choose a candidate and then smooth the path to victory by removing all obstacles, we will once again nominate a hot house flower that will be trampled by the commie-lib thugs. If our guy can't decisively defeat the grey men of the establishment, we might as well not run anyone.

Obama will get 40% of the votes no matter how much damage he inflicts on the nation. Our "guy" has to make our side willing to crawl over broken glass to get to the polls. 60% of the voters are ready to boot Obambi, but they won't follow a generic mushy RINO. Just like Dems have to overcome the "weak" label, the GOP must overcome the "lame" label. The next guy in line is a recipe for disaster, even if the Ruling Class hopes it will work.

Warn your "moderate" friends before any clear GOP candidate emerges that the GOP candidate will be called stupid and radical. Then remind them you predicted this smear campaign when it happens so just once the "moderates" don't fall for most predictable of all political tactics.

"I think in this political season, we need to identify as early as possible the decent, dignified Republican loser who knows how to give a great concession speech."

Mark Steyn on the MSM effort to ID the consensus GOP candidate for POTUS ASAP so he can be destroyed.

Headless body vs Empty suit. I say we exhume Reagan. Anon, Steyn is so right. I say some candidates have better chances than others. Here is our delima - our cause is just, our candidates are human and our base has common sense. I liked Pence. If we took back the Senate and defund all-things-Obama, can't we make him a lame duck in his second term? I'll be happy with that much. He's lost his glow and made an international fool of himself. What if we focus on the grass-roots work of changing people. Recruiting the minorities, reforming at the state and local level. Castrate the "beast" and give the people real hope at the grass-roots level. Red state Governors are doing all they can to fight unions, fight the federal gov't, fight Sharia, protect our borders and get our citizens back to work. Our local conservative school board is catching hell from the left trying to save our schools. Capitalism has been crippled. I worry about appointments he might make, pardons, etc.. what else can he pass without both houses? We will not survive unless more of what is happening in WI and AZ catches on. This is no time to compromise, even for the presidency. I want him to be HISTORY rather than historic. But at what price?
