You don't often see the insect souls among us displaying themselves....

but every so often one lets the mask slip. Like this one:
I've scooped brains out of buckets, I've counted dendrites in slices cut from the brains of dead babies. You want to make me back down by trying to inspire revulsion with dead baby pictures? I look at them unflinchingly and see meat. And meat does not frighten me.
Sociopath PZ Myers is a biologist and associate professor at the University of Minnesota, Morris. With his harvested human skin pulled over his carapace he looks like this:
pzm_london_lg.jpg

Vox Popoli sums this "thing" up with: "This is the naked face of atheism, ladies and gentlemen. Look on it well and remember it, because it usually doesn't dare to show its disgusting and anti-human nature so openly."

Your Say

We got your message PZ dude. You is like, the quintessence of cool. So cool, you cold, man. You gives dry ice the shivers. You make Mengele look warm and fuzzy.

This is what happens when logic becomes the master instead of a tool of the soul. Hey, if man weren't made of meat, then cannibalism would be wrong or something.

Meat doesn't frighten me either. Rancid meat does. Especially when it talks.

It sounds like he's making a case for cannibalism.

He's making a case for self-fellatio.

He should be incarcerated in an institution, not teaching at one.

Posted by: Zardoz at January 22, 2011 10:02 AM

What else did he say? I refuse to condemn a man based on a soundbite

You can also scan the whole blog too.

I think he first got on the boards in the early spin that the Abortion Mill was about crime and abortion didn't really enter into it.

(1) So not a candidate for PTSD. There isn't any trauma or stress if the victim isn't human.

(2) Butchers should file a class-action against his existence. For professional reasons.

(3) Say, didn't we see his type in the dock at Nuremberg a few decades back?

(4) Can't the Mossad pick him up for a trial on pre-war crimes? I just know that somewhere is an atrocity he would like to be complicit with.

(5) ...I really ought not say anything else, really but I will leave you with this quote:

"What now? Let me tell you what now. I'ma call a coupla hard, pipe-hittin' niggers, who'll go to work on the homes here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch. You hear me talkin', hillbilly boy? I ain't through with you by a damn sight. I'ma get medieval on your ass."

Now that would be entertainment.

Without academia, people like him could not exist.

“Having heard all of this, you may choose to look the other way, but you can never say again that you did not know.” -William Wilberforce (British politician that abolished the slave trade.)

Let it be remembered, that Texas Governor Rick Perry and like-minded individuals will have had the merit of abortion's inevitable abolition.

The greatest fury to him and other atheists is that Christians everywhere believe Christ died for their souls as well as mine. It must drive Mr. Myer mad that we Christians believe because he is alive there is still hope for his soul.

I think he should be ground up into sausage and barbecue and served up at a university outdoor social, unbeknownced to the picnic attendees, of course.

There is no soul.

Posted by: Anonymous at February 1, 2011 3:08 PM

You people are a bunch of hateful, evil fools.

Oh Stubby, you love us, you know it.

Thankfully we do have academia, and thankfully people with this kind of intellectual integrity do exist. You zombie worshiping rubes would be well served to read what PZ Myers has to say.

I see we have a fresh infestation of insect souls in this thread.

Hi! Thanks for playing.

Posted by: vanderleun at February 1, 2011 3:51 PM

Ignoring context, ftw!

Posted by: Jimmy at February 1, 2011 4:32 PM

PZ Meyers is god! Except the kind of god that exists. Wait, there isn't one... Never mind.

As you were, nutballs.

Posted by: Mark the Godly at February 1, 2011 4:40 PM

As always, it is only when you misrepresent the truth that you have an argument, in this case by removing a comment from its context.

Posted by: Anonymous at February 1, 2011 4:59 PM

I met PZ Myers last October, and he seemed like a nice guy. But I got the impression that he has absolutely no respect for beliefs which can not be supported by reason and facts.

Posted by: Zaphod at February 1, 2011 6:36 PM

What is this? A meeting of the "We Love PZ" club?

Enjoy!

Posted by: vanderleun at February 1, 2011 6:43 PM

"But I got the impression that he has absolutely no respect for beliefs which can not be supported by reason and facts"

You mean the beliefs worthy of disrespect and ridicule?

Posted by: Anonymous at February 1, 2011 8:28 PM

Please put the comment in context. Where is your honesty? Your integrity? Are these not Godly traits? Does God not want his servants to be truthful and honest? You bear false witness against PZ Myers and do no service to those you decieve, yourself or God.

Wake up and quit being such a colonized mind Heath.

"Insect Souls"? Seriously?
You do, of course, realise that some branches of science entail research done on dead bodies (animal or human), that it's rather natural to lose the "disgusting!" reaction to our "ugly" inner workings after doing that for a while?

While I'm sure we won't see eye to eye about the matter of when personhood starts, I can't *believe* you're comparing him to Mengele - an insult not only to PZ Myers (which I'm sure he can live with), but to all the actual victims of Mengele.

Posted by: Imogen at February 2, 2011 4:00 AM

Glad to see that he bothers and outrages you so much; that means PZ's doing his job, reminding people that superstitious nonsense IS, in fact, superstitious nonsense.

And there's nothing sociopathic about not being horrified by dead bodies, of either animals or people. Indeed, are you suggesting that all morticians are "insect souls" because they can do THEIR jobs?

Can you say that again so we can understand you?

Posted by: vanderleun at February 2, 2011 11:27 AM

Ok,so....

-a biology teacher who learns about the body, it's functions and it's parts by inspecting them with many tools, one being dissection.

VS

-A megalomaniac who tortured thousands for purely made up reasons, used bad science and religious superstition to fuel his belief in 'superior' and 'inferior' breeds of humanity and regularly experimented on living, not dead, subjects.

To those who attack the man based on one sound-bite, and a quote-mined sound-bite at that: The example above is why we are laughing at you.

We pity you because you believe that 'forgiveness' doesn't apply to anyone who believes differently than you. We detest you because you take the greatest gift of humanity and wipe your bottoms with it.

We despise you because your superstitions, your hypocrisy, your complete denial of the world around you hurt our world and it's people.
