I don't expect that the sun will actually make an appearance Thursday. The papers run those winter forecasts with a teaser just to keep the suicides to a minimum.

We're going out to our lake cabin in a while to see whether - or how much - the rainwater-driven processes that created our gravel beach in the first place have worked over the weekend. Perhaps we'll need to replace some of the beach back into the driveway. The little creek that runs beside the house after three days of hard rain is still running strong this morning. It'll take a day or so to drain. We're lucky.
