Melding Dumb and Dumber

One of the greatest ills that television ever foisted onto our culture
is the melding of two of the most laughable and looked down upon "professions" in human history, the actor and the newspaperman, into a single monstrous entity and then piping them into our living rooms 24/7 for decades until  we have become brainwashed into thinking that being well turned out, or articulate in the sense of being able to repeat a practiced line, is the same thing as possessing intelligence. -- "... if you're a position of decision making..." @ Jaded Haven
