High Velocity Social Arguments: 24,000 Comments an Hour!
As of 6:40 PM Pacific Time the AP news item headlined Court halts Calif. gay marriages pending appeal has received an astonishing 48,177 comments only two hours and ten minutes after being put up. The story is a flatly reported summary of the facts that led to the decision. Level of comments in the main? About two hundred feet lower than YouTube comments.
