Air Terror: Tehran to Damascus and On to Caracas, Non-Stop

In From the Cold: The Aerial Pipeline

You won't find it on Travelocity--or any of the other internet travel sites--but Iran Air, the Islamic state's official carrier, could seemingly meet your needs. Iran Air offers monthly bi-monthly service between Tehran and the Venezuelan capital, but don't try booking a seat. While travel agents can "see" the flight in their system, the Iranian carrier isn't accepting reservations. You see, Flight 744 is apparently reserved for members of Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), intelligence agents and Hizballah operatives.
Capacity of this plane? "The SP could accommodate 230 passengers in a 3-class cabin or 331 in a (303 economy, 28 business) 2-class cabin, and a maximum of 440 passengers in one class." Translation: 1 flight = 1 light battalion.

Your Say

The Chavez / Mossadegh parallels have always fascinated me.

The Current Events / Red Dawn parallels are beginning to frighten me.

It's a long way across the ocean. A lot of things could happen. Maybe they should.

To think that our government does not know what is on these flights seems naive at best. The release of the knowledge of this flights existance would seem to be of more import than the knowledge itself.

To think that the Eggshell White House cares what's on these flights seems to fit the sitrep. Where could they be going except to help El Presidente of Vuvuzela. Nothing to see here folks.

I would love to see one of these flights mid-Atlantic when all of the seats suddenly became smoking.
