Actually he was bowing to the bald guy behind Chris picking his pocket. with his left hand, to retrieve the invitation to the photo op in the sandwich shop in Edison - sent in error.

If you are going to bow, do so to someone who is your better as you recognize it.

I've been appalled by other instances of Obama's bowing down but, without seeing video, I'm going to call this as more doubling over with laughter. "Bowing" just doesn't seem to fit the moment here.
