QOTD (So far)

"These things -- the beauty, the memory of our own past -- are good images of what we really desire; but if they are mistaken for the thing itself they turn into dumb idols, breaking the hearts of their worshippers. For they are not the thing itself; they are only the scent of a flower we have not found, the echo of a tune we have not heard, news from a country we have never yet visited." C.S. Lewis, via Belmont Club サ The Singer Not the Song

Your Say

Mr Lewis opened my heart and mind to Christianity. A better apologist for it I cannot imagine.

I wish the BBC would release the recordings of the addresses to the RAF that became "Mere Christianity". It would be wonderful to hear the man's voice expressing these beautiful thoughts.

Reading "Mere Christianity" right now for the first time, after years of urging by my wife. Not at all what I expected -- it is a life-changer. And I have always been agnostic/skeptic.
