What can I say? A city of winnahs!
While the pandemic AIDS problem throughout Africa deserves to receive much of the world’s efforts, information about the increasing HIV incidence in certain U.S. groups is difficult to find in media reports. - From 2004 to 2007, the estimated number of newly diagnosed HIV/AIDS in the 34 states with the recently developed confidential name-based HIV infection reporting system increased 15%. While this may reflect changes in an improved reporting system, it may in fact indicate a rise in the HIV infection.
- The current prevalence of HIV infection within certain subpopulations actually challenges rates observed in areas of Africa. Think about it for a moment. The incidence of HIV-infected adults in Washington, D.C. (one in 30) is actually higher than reported numbers for Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Rwanda.
- In addition, incidence of HIV infection among men who have sex with men in some cities and urban areas increased in 2007, and was higher than the population incidence in severely affected countries such as Kenya (7.8%) and South Africa (16.9%).

Well, the incidence of AIDS is no doubt highest among populations of crack whores who do it bareback for a buck dozens of times a day. As this is also a definition of the politicians and accompanying fluffers who inhabit DC, high AIDS rates there surprise no thinking person. What's frightening is the predictable further increase in those rates now that President Pretty Boy is attracting swarms of similar well-oiled plague spreaders to town. God help us.

The gay community continues to wear HIV as a status symbol, something to show your true 'gayness'. 'Barebacking' has long been in practice, in true spite of all the knowledge that has been accumulated lo these many years.
I felt for those that suffered and died early on, as well as for their loved ones.
But for those that have continued unprotected sexual behavior for oh, the last 20 years, well, to hell with them.
They have certainly made their own bed, but their behavior has threatened greater society in the meantime.
No sympathy.
