Here the liberals simply want to import a low-wage servant class of latinos who they consider more suited for this task than, say, the American poor blacks who the swipples, for many reasons, don't feel comfortable inviting inside their homes as $5/hr servants. Second, since illegal immigration hurts proles who have to worry about losing their livelihoods whereas smart people with advanced degrees need not be afraid of such trite issues, supporting illegal immigration is a credible instant signal that one is not a prole. And of course, the fact that these border crossers are, as one wag put it, "undocumented Democrats", doesn't hurt either.
