We were strong, vital, and industrious.
We couldn’t be defeated by any known method of warfare. But with our success came complacence. And one day the deadly enemy snuck undetected through the gates inside the Trojan Grasshopper. We let them in because of their gilded promises. Promises that by merely throwing in a few twigs and branches into the gleaming chrome machine, riches would pour out of the chute in abundance, enough for everybody everywhere. No one would ever go without again. We would be cared for equally, from cradle to grave. It sounded so good. -- Motel Zero
