Sunday Pick @ Ka-Ching

Lance Armstrong overcame testicular cancer to win the Tour De France for seven consecutive years. Another Leibovitz triumph, this photo illustrates exactly what the Tour De France champion’s muscles are doing when he is at work. Housed at the Oswald Gallery in Austin. Date: 1999. Photographer: Annie Leibovitz. -- KA-CHING!

Your Say

This is the reason why Mr. Ford ought to be revered with his own holiday.

Gerard,

Are you trying to get Andrew Sullivan and Barney Frank to frequent your site?

I cannot fully undorse this post.

Sorry I'm getting around to this late...but Lance is worth it. He was a stand out triathlete at age 16...no money in it. Now...what this photo does not characterize is the endurance required to do what Tour de France cyclists do. Lance averaged 4 hours a day, pedaling at over 25 miles per hour, for 21 days....that's DAYS...3 weeks. Can you imagine what your ass would feel like? Lance is a well known freak of nature with an aerobic capacity off the charts. NBC commentators were all excited about cross country skiers...but sorry, give me professional cyclists for enduring pain of effort over long, long stretches, and then waking up to do it again.
