MUNI is nothing more than welfare/affirmative action on wheels. It's the ultimate redistribution of wealth.
By MUNI's own figures, more than 25% of the workforce is out sick every fucking day. The drivers make $75K ++, and their union runs the system.
The fuckers would show up late on my way to work, then they'd pull over two blocks away at the corner store, get off of the bus, and come back 5 minutes later with a Coke and a bag of chips. On my time, not their fucking break.
Making all of us late.
The other route my brother and I would wait for up on Ocean/Geneva at BART we called the Ho Chi Minh Trail. It was one of those accordion-style elongated buses, and (stupid us) we'd stand up front where you're supposed to get on and pay, not in the back line where all the asians would pile on to the bus as people would be trying to exit. I'd step up and say to the driver "Hey, how come I'm paying, and they're all getting on for free??!!"
Asshole would reply "Sir, pay or exit the bus."
And me..."What is this shit?! How come they ride for free??!!"
Asshole..."Sir, pay or exit the bus."
And me..."Fuck you."
And walk home, or pay a taxi driver.
Asshole MUNI bastards.
