The Abiding New Age Dementia That is San Francisco

sanfranyogamat.jpg

There will always be a San Francisco says James Fallows of this photo taken, "This afternoon, Marina/Cow Hollow area." Really? Only so long as these yogistas believe earthquakes are only for the little people in Haiti. [HT: Curmudgeonly & Skeptical presents Boned Jello that asks always, "Daddy, what's a Liberal?"]

When it counts you can count on San Francisco to do the most useless.

To be fair, it's nice to have a ground pad to sleep on and cushion the hard ground or street -- especially if you live someplace that's damp and tropical. This gives people an excuse to get rid of the exercise mats they really haven't been using, so probably they'll get a lot of donations.

You can also use the yoga pads for cushioning medicines and breakables while transporting stuff through the streets to where they're needed, I'll bet.

But Maureen - will they be able to get the hippy-stank out of the mats before giving them to the Haitians?

What do San Franciscans have gainst Haitians?
