I never saw the old one before. Very cool. 100% agree about the crescent, that was my immediate reaction. The red must represent rivers of infidel blood. Whatever it "represents" it is, graphically speaking, pure crap. Amateurish and emasculated, just the way we elect 'em.

The symbolism that jumps out at me runs along the lines of: The crescent moon of 'the 0bama' will be intercepted and pierced by the star that led the wise men to baby Jesus.
