Breeding a Slave Race
Here are the two most shattering facts about North Korea.
First, when viewed by satellite photography at night, it is an area of unrelieved darkness. Barely a scintilla of light is visible even in the capital city. Second, a North Korean is on average six inches shorter than a South Korean. I served a year in the ROK up on the DMZ. As far as North Korea goes, a bigger bunch of fucktards you will not find on this planet.
And I think Gerard's right, Hitchen's doesn't really expect anybody to do anything about it.
I am waiting though, for Kim to kick the bucket, as the fight among his functionaries for the throne (because that's what it is, we should refer to it as the Kim dynasty), will be interesting to see. I half suspect the Chinese might even invade when he goes down, citing the Tang dynasty's occupation of Great Gorgoryeo the same way they gobbled up Tibet.
Then again, if I was the Chinese, I'd have got rid of Kim a long time ago, and let Korea reunite. Gets rid of the Americans, and Korea was an ally of China's for most of it's history. No reason it wouldn't be again.
The Chicom's are dumb. They really don't know how to play the game deep.

SOuth Korea is terrified at the prospect of the Kim dynasty collapsing and the resultant re-unification. The problems - remember, the NORK citizens are physically & mentally stunted - will be magnitudes worse than the German re-unification.
Same reason China doesn't want to take over.
The juice ain't worth the squeeze.
