“I do not bring with me today a definitive solution to the problems of war.”

Obama's become a crushing bore:
"The Obama speechwriting team don't seem to realize that. They seem to be the last guys on the planet in love with the sound of his voice and their one interminable tinny tune with its catchpenny hooks. The usual trick is to position their man as the uniquely insightful leader pitching his tent between two extremes no sane person has ever believed: "There are those who say there is no evil in the world. There are others who argue that pink fluffy bunnies are the spawn of Satan and conspiring to overthrow civilization. Let me be clear: I believe people of goodwill on all sides can find common ground between the absurdly implausible caricatures I attribute to them on a daily basis. We must begin by finding the courage to acknowledge the hard truth that I am living testimony to the power of nuance to triumph over hard truth and come to the end of the sentence on a note of sonorous, polysyllabic, if somewhat hollow, uplift. Pause for applause."-- Once More from the Top, Barack! by Mark Steyn on National Review Online

Your Say
"Hi guys!"
"Mr. President!"
"How's that Nobel speech coming along?"
"Pretty well. You know how you wanted some biblical-sounding stuff for the clingers?"
"Yeah..."
"Try this, 'Do not think I have come to abolish the Law and the Prophets.'"
"Okay..."
"And you say, 'I do not bring with me today a definitive solution to the problems of war.'"
"Nice. Let's go with that. Who was it that said the Law and the Prophets thing?"
"I don't know, I lost my place."
"No biggy. Thanks, guys!"

Our President was on with Okra Windbag last night. People keep propping him up in his corner don't they? Flapping towels, smelling salts, a swig and spit of water, shouting advice he can't hear through the haze and daze, "did she say KEEP YOUR HANDS UP, or DON'T BE A F**K UP?," as they shove him back into the ring. An air of desperation seems to surround his 'posse.'
Has a President ever had this much media exposure? Bush didn't, for sure, but I don't think Bush's predecessor, 'President Happypants,' did either.
