Obama Junior: Who Knew? They All Knew.

Ron Radosh: Lessons of Van Jones

Finally, we must raise the question of who vetted him, and how could the president not have known Jones’ views? Of course, the White House did know. Valerie Jarrett made it clear that they recruited him because they were familiar with his record in Oakland, and they wanted him in the White House. If Jones knew, Obama knew. When a candidate for a government job fills out a form, either the FBI clearance form or the one given candidates by the administration, they are asked if they have done anything, said anything or been involved in groups that could prove embarrassing to the president.... Up until now, Jones’ defenders have said that he held a rather low level, unimportant job. Now, Sirota is claiming just the opposite. Of course he is correct. Jones had access to a nine billion dollar budget; his job was a major one.

Unimportant job?

I had to fill out an SF-86 for the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Van Jones is a street thug -- for real.

He was imprisoned in '93 for participating in the Rodney King riots. He admired his prison mates who were "true revolutionaries" (us sane people call them career criminals), whom he then proceeded to associate with after his release.

So, he was an ex-con street thug who was handed the reigns of an important but unscrutinized government post created on the spot just for him.
