At the risk of ticking off good frlceanee writers really? Is this a surprise?The model that AOL is adopting has been the model at Huffington Post for a few years now. And that model has made HuffPo one of the number one sites on the Internet, which is why AOL bought them.Writer friendly? No.A good model for a frlceaneer? No.A publishing model that has succeeded wildly in the past couple of years? Yes.Putting yourself in their shoes: if you were trying to make money as a publisher why wouldn't you adopt one that has been working extremely successfully in place of one that hasn't?:Unless someone comes up with a wildly successful model where the writers are decently paid and it's been proven in the wild? Expect more of the same.
