Has anyone picked up on the fact that Mr. Alford very early answers Senator Boxer with "Yes, Ma'am", and she doesn't chastise him for not calling her senator?

Yeah, Alford gave her the business, but being head of the "Black Chamber of Commerce", it's kinda like him calling the kettle, ahem, "black".
This racist stuff can be a double-edged sword.

I loved him calling her "M'am" three times - no way she going to chastise him like she did that Brigadier General.
I guess "M'am" has more sting coming from a white man, if you are Barbara Boxer.

It's not only the racial aspect here. SENATOR!! Boxer was speaking slowly to Mr. Alford, like he was a disgruntled four year old.
