    St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle;
    Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
    May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
    Cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

    Amen.

    All ye saints, pray for the health and strength of our President in this hour of his, and our, great need.

    Dear President Trump: We, the American people hired you to lead us in Making America Great Again, to be the beacon for a free world that we once were. Heal quickly, our enemies are still hammering at our gates and are amongst us, trying to subvert everything and anything good in America, so they can turn us into a third world dictatorship. God Speed your recovery.

    The media vultures at the presser are such freaking as*holes. Trying to sneak the gotcha questions in. The one Lois Lane wannabe asking “has the president been admitted to the hospital” No dumbass, he’s been sitting in the ER waiting Room for 4 days. Boy, they sure aren’t concerned with the President’s HIPAA rights, are they?

    Almost Greek, this. Hubris and then Nemesis.

    Mother Nature always has the last word, and She is a very strict parent indeed.

    Let’s pray that President & Mrs. Trump pull a Gene Autry and get right “Back In The Saddle Again”!

    Sergeant Daughter no. 1 works for The Donald. Her tenure with the WH is coming to a close, and with her she takes a round of COVID. She called me up from the ER of the same hospital where her Boss is staying with a spanking new diagnosis. She wore the mask. And gloves, and she still got the Wuhu lung fu. She quarantined, her husband, also tested positive, but hasn’t gotten sick. Here’s my takeaway from all those desperate, deranged Trump haters, who pray for his death:
    They make the mistake of believing their own lies about COVID. They lied about everything concerning the death toll, the masks, the National house arrest of everyone, the shut downs, and now, they hope their errant beliefs will be fulfilled as true in order to justify the campaign of lies.
    My daughter recovered, no one working at the WH who has gotten it has died, and there is reason to trust in God that He looks after His own in spite of all the fervent demonic evil wishing him death.

    From the 1928 Book of Common Prayer,
    The Order for the Visitation of the Sick

    O Lord, save thy servant;
    Who putteth his trust in thee.
    Send him help from thy holy place;
    And evermore mightily defend him.
    Let the enemy have no advantage of him;
    Be unto him, O Lord, a strong tower;
    From the face of his enemy.
    O Lord, hear our prayer.
    And let our cry come unto thee.

    God has the last word, not some fictional nature deity. And I ask that His mercy be extended to President Trump and the First Lady, and to our dear Country. Have mercy, Lord, and cover us once again under the shadow of Thy Wings. In Jesus name I pray, amen.

    Comments like those I see here make me wish Gerard had a ‘like’ button to push.

    I’ve expressed my best wishes already, but it never hurts to be thorough; “Get well fast, it confounds the enemy.”

    They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

    Isaiah 40:31

    God Bless President Trump.

    @Jewel, thanksgiving to Him for your daughter’s and family’s health
    @Rob, Auntie, Missy, Kurt, and John, I join in your prayers

    I love me some Cmdr. Conley, sharp of mind and pure of heart, sounds like the president is in very good hands indeed. The press are ninnyhammers and I would love to listen to the conversation as soon as those doctors and nurses got inside and closed those doors behind them.

    @Nobody Atall,

    I went to visit my daughter at Walter Reed a few years ago. She’d had a difficult first pregnancy and even more traumatic birth. Standing outside her room, waiting to go in, an Army Chaplain, as well as members of SS and WHCA were there. So many very good people came to comfort one of their own. This is what gives me so much hope about America. The Chaplain gave me his personal number. He has since retired, but only afterwards did I find out that he was the President’s Chaplain. It has been both an honor and privilege to have my daughter serve her country and this president. It has also been difficult. Up until recently, only a few people knew. I could count on only two reactions: hate or love.
    The people who heard she’d been promoted to the WH who hated Trump, would spew the most hateful bile. People with whom I was good friends up to that moment, and after they vented, I would just stare at them, unable to comprehend that madness, and unwilling to respond.
    I hope there’s no civil war 2. There is no pleasure in killing the evil among us and no pleasure in wishing them dead. Maybe there will be a fracturing in secession, who knows. It’s just my duty to keep my household together.

    Jewel, I do not think many hope there is a civil war 2, but I do think a good number of Americans are prepared for such an eventuality. As you note there is no pleasure in killing, nor in wishing folks dead, but there is no chance of the United States settling the political differences front and center currently via succession. Civil wars are a nasty business, and I’d rather America not have to contend with another. Like you, and many others who frequent here I’d wager, my duty is to hold my household together, and I will do whatever it takes to ensure my household’s survival.

    Mr. Miller:
    How do you know Mother Nature and God are not the same being, in different aspects? After all, assigning a sex at all to what is by definition a singular being is somewhat ridiculous.
