What you’ve witnessed over the past few years has been mere speed bumps in a parking lot.
Kevin, above, is sort of right, but only by half.
Probably about half of the adults in the US lack the intellectual horsepower to live successfully in a geographic area supposedly based in the idea of individual freedom.
Freedom is scary to that half of the population because they have been trained to be victims, to lie, to resist responsibility, and to blame everyone and everything else for their own shortcomings. Half the population believes they should be supported entirely by others. In short, they want other people to be their slaves.
You cannot have commonality when you hold diversity above all else as they are exact opposites, and without commonality there will be no common goals. There can only be turmoil. Turmoil creates violence and that’s exactly what is in store for the future.
You will not have freedom until you eradicate the things that are not free nor want to be. All dead weight must be thrown overboard for it’s very existence is causing the USS America to list heavily to starboard and white water is flooding over the gunwales. I don’t like it either, but there is no way for enemies to survive and live together. Is this not apparent?
