MOLLY BLOOM, DEMOCRAT, TELLS HOW SHE DECIDED TO SUPPORT KERRY-EDWARDS:

Gerard has rewritten Molly Bloom's soliloquy from James Joyce's "Ulysses" as a stereotypical Kerry voter.

It's the literati equivalent of quoting from Monty Python.

(in my case, pseudo-literati)

I got the reference because I've seen that bit of "Ulysses" quoted around the web / blogosphere. But I have not read Joyce.

I do like that quote, though. If I could only be assured that the rest of the book was as clever and exciting...
