We Need a White House "Stupid Service"

I'm an adamantine supporter of the "Secret Service" and it's mission to protect the President. But couldn't that agency spin-off three or four agents for a "Stupid Service" whose bizarro world duty would be to seek out the people in the White House stupid enough to pull off this stunt and drown them in the shallow end of the gene pool give them a stern reprimand? Would that be asking too much?

Jumbo Jet, F-16 Buzz Lady Liberty, Put New York on Edge

"On edge?" On EDGE? I'd say that when you have people fleeing the Hudson River waterfront screaming, "on edge" doesn't quite cover it.

As someone who stood across the East River and saw the towers fall, I know exactly what was going through the minds of New Yorkers today when this gigantic clusterfuck showed up in the skies. And that was terror. (More than a few might have spared a moment to regret voting for the current clump of zombie bozos lurching about in the West Wing gnawing each other's brainzzz.)

For those that weren't in New York at the time, or for those who were and have now forgotten, it wasn't just the first day that was full of terror. The terror went on for months afterwards. In my office on the 12th floor of a building across from Penn Station it seemed to have faded a bit after two months, but then there was a day. On that day, about 20 blocks south of the office, a gas leak in a building went off. It leveled the building and was heard, loudly, for at least 50 blocks.

Even though I was twelve floors up, it was less than two minutes until I was down 12 floors of fire stairs and out on the street. I wasn't alone. The most of the inhabitants of most of the skyscrapers all around me were out there too. The rest were coming but they were on higher floors. Everyone was scanning the sky and moving towards whatever open space they could find. It was not a relaxing moment.

But what do the "smart and bright" boys and girls of Obama Land on the Potomac know about that? Having the F-16 fighter come in behind the jumbo was just an extra-dollop of mental retardation slopped on just to make it rich enough.

I repeat my call for the formation of a White House "Stupid Service" to find the people in the West Wing who think stuff like this is a good idea. But I withdraw my call for them to be drowned. They should be strung up above their desks and used like a pinata until they implode. And then left there to twist slowly in wind "pour encourage les autres." taken off Obama's blackberry list.

That, at least, would be a fitting way to celebrate this dumbest of all ends to a "First 100 Days."

I can't help myself, I'm putting on my tinfoil hat and thinking of conspiracy theories. What if this wasn't the result of the White House "Stupid Service", I mean what if Obama and his inner circle thought it might be really funny to pull the ultimate fire alarm, and send New Yorkers running for the exits?

The brother is just cruisin' Manhattan in the ultimate 'pimp my ride'. Wait until he lowers the limo.

I said the same thing (um, just not as well). However, my normally a-political wife said:

"This wasn't an accident. Obama did this on purpose to remind us and have us screaming for more government power and protection!"

I didn't even know my lovely wife owned a tin-foil hat.

It's an interesting take: for the moonbats who thought Geo. Bush exploited our fears to gain power, they think the route to power is by creating fear and exploiting it.

"That Reichstag isn't going to burn itself, y'know!"

For more than a year after 9/11, the first thing I did every morning was listen to the TONE of the voices on the radio/alarm to hear if they sounded conversational, and then I would sigh, "so far, so good." To this day, if I look at a clear blue sky, I think of that morning, and how empty the sky was after the attack. When I drive by an airport, and see a plane take-off or land, I can't help but remember.

The WH seems determined to pretend 9/11 never happened. This incredibly screwed up idea has brought it screaming back to memory. Idiots.

Absolutely idiotic to do this without at least notifying the NY authorities.

It also reveals how little money means to our government. They needed new photos? So they fly planes low over NYC? Er, dubya tee eff!

IIRC, both Cory Lidle's fatal small-plane accident in 2006 and Captain Sullenberger's emergency landing on the Hudson just a few months ago frightened a good many New Yorkers. A knowledge of history (even recent history) has never been Teh One's strong suit, of course.

Gray, you're a riot.

I have the same reaction as The Anchoress to a sparkling clear, flawless blue sky. More often than not, "that feeling" creeps in before idle enjoyment has a chance to settle in. And I live on the Left coast. What keeps some of us jittery still is that certain related phenomena are accelerating in the wrong direction and the Stoopud Squad just cheers them on-- the relentless Islamic drive for domination, with or without violent jihad.

You could take Barry's missteps and blatant insanity (e.g. relations with foreign despots) and multiply by ten orders of magnitude and STILL the moonbags would worship him. The plane stunt is unbelievable. The good news is that planning the social calendar is easier when we know who voted for Change.

I was at a memorial gathering in Seattle on September 15, 2001. This was either the first or second day that commercial planes were allowed to fly again after the 9-11 grounding.
Every time a plane from Sea-Tac Airport roared overhead, everybody's eyes jerked up to the sky and they gave a nervous little grin or humorless chuckle.

It's September 10th in America again.

With such utter stupidity ending the first 100 days, one can only wonder what the next cycle will bring. Good recollection.

Why was everybody running? What were they afraid of?

Come on. We ALL heard Michael Moore....

There IS NO terrorist threat!!!

If we can have the office of "Stupid Service" for the White House, can we also have one for Congress as well, since they seem to be proceeding in the same manner, as if it were September 10?

Quote of the Day Year:

Does any image illustrate so neatly the wrongheadedness of the Obama administration than Americans scrambling in terror from Air Force One?

From Ace of Spades, and said to be from Tantor, although I couldn't find it on that site.

Maybe you should rethink your views on the secret service....

I am quite sure that Obama would be happy to have any one of them killed to further his political career.

In fact, I am quite sure that Obama would be quite happy to kill millions of americans to remain in office.
