Trump South of the Border

atrumpsouth.jpg

Translation:

"Trump la mitad del territorio de U.S.A. es nuestro": Trump, half the territory of the USA is ours. "Trump, devuelve (etc)": Trump return our (list of states). "Trump no pagaremos tu muro": Trump, we're not going to pay for your wall.

We'll see.

"Trump, we're not going to pay for your wall."
======================

Kinda like tenants that don't pay property taxes right?

They do, but not directly.

Correct: "We'll see."

Right over the target. That's why all the flak.

But the Mexicans stole it from the Spanish.

Winfield Scott, call your office.

And facing the border from the North, an enormous billboard reading

"ESTAS DESPEDIDO!!"

Great comment Kristin. I'll try to keep that in my list-o-quips.

I dislike the whole "stole it from" idea. Do these idiots believe that if Christopher Columbus had never "discovered" the New World, all the indigenous peoples would still be living a simple life and happily killing each other over territory? That somehow the Old World would never have learned about the New World. Damn that Christopher Columbus.

" 'Trump, devuelve (etc)': Trump return our (list of states)."

Come and take it.

Before they recidivise the Mexican War (1846-48), they'll be facing another Punitive Expedition (1916-17).

I just wanted to use the word "recidivist" in this unusual way, in perfect context.

At one time we owned all of Mexico and gave them most of it back. Perhaps we should tell them to get off our land and go the hell back to Spain.

$25 BILLION in US $ sent back to the taco benders to keep them afloat.

Yearly.

Cut that shit out for just one year and the wall is paid for.

And that's just one way.

South of the border, down Mexico way,
That's where our jobs all went
Our GDP spent and illegals came to play.
And now I want to, build a wall today
Right on the border, down Mexico way.

Fuel is correct. A big chunk of the Mexican economy comes from cash sent back from legal and illegal workers in the US.

At one time we owned all of Mexico and gave them most of it back.

====================

Yes and we paid them $18 million (in 1848 money) for the parts that we kept. And then paid $10 million more (in 1854 money) for what is now southern Arizona/SW New Mexico in the Gadsden Purchase.

But the truth is, Mexico had that territory for about 25 years, and by now we have had it for almost 170 years.

Spain and Mexico had this territory from 1590 - 1848 and never did much of anything with it. Subsistence farming in New Mexico and Subsistence cattle ranching in California, with small populations.

Within 25 years of the US taking possession, it had discovered and developed gold, silver, coal and other mineral deposits, moved hundreds of thousands of people into the territories, established farming and ranching operations to feed the new people and begun the task of criss-crossing the area with railroads.
