The Enemy Within

"We're gonna need bigger guns." Liberal Outrage: A Pro-McCain March In Manhattan

"A Pro-McCain march on the Upper West Side in Manhattan on Sunday, September 21, 2008. A group of McCain-Palin supporters dare to march through the Upper West Side - infidels in the liberal Mecca. Local "progressives" boo, jeer, and flip fingers at them with a rage they never display even to this country's enemies. We would like them to take a look at themselves in this video and maybe learn a few things about the human condition that the academia has obviously left out."

Is it only me that thinks that there is going to be a bloody civil war in the US within my lifetime?

I've never been prouder of the Upper West Side!

I watched the whole thing.

I wish I hadn't.

That was way too rough for a Friday afternoon.

I'm so glad I live in Texas.

Quite the display from the Holy Left. I wish I could more eloquently tie together the ideas of 'safety in numbers' and 'lemmings off a cliff.'

A very similar scene could play out in Minneapolis, too.

The left doesn't realize that it has morphed into the southern bigots of the late 1950s early 1960s.

This very much recalls those film clips of the angry spitting haters of the south abusing the poor black children and setting up gauntlets as the kids tried to make their way into segregated schools.

The left is disappointing in that it doesn't recognize its successes. For today's right wing is a largely "leftized" right wing. The social revolution that the left fought for in the late 60s early 70s has been mostly won. For some reason the left does not recognize this. They want to demonize the right. They won't admit that both left and right have much more in common than not. This lack of self reflection or self recognition has turned the left into the reactionary haters of the 50s and 60s that they so feared and despised.

You know what? I think so, too.

An Obama victory will all but guarantee it, and I expect it will start sooner rather than later.

Politics in the USA has always been loud, rude and passionate.

I'm a conservative who despairs about the liberal loony left as much as anyone. And who worries about the future of our country if Obama is elected and his socialist policies, aided and abetted by a Democratic Congress, get implemented.

However, just as the pro-McCain marchers have a right to march and show their support, so too have the idiots the right to be as idiotic as they want to be. Rude shouting, middle fingers, boos and all.

I thought maybe the video was going to show the marchers being physically assaulted in some way or boxed in and prevented from continuing.

I AM afraid that's going to start happening soon, and the violence will increase until the left gets what it wants: a police state with their views in place. And where all protests against them will be suppressed at first then made illegal.

But on that particular day, at that place and time, it was normal American politics (not saying here that the left is normal, just that disagreement in American politics is normal).

When liberals make public pronouncements to demonstrate their intellectually based morals and their superiority to “religious", closed-minded idiots, one of their favor tactics is to present themselves as intelligent, reasoning, scientific, tolerant, inclusive, open-minded people who think all people are entitled to the same freedoms. They also would have us believe that the only way to solve any problem is through calm negotiation and well thought out reasoning.

This video is proof of what I have always held to be true. Tolerance and inclusion, as far as the left is concerned, are only for those who think as they think. They abhor anyone who has an opinion that differs from their own. They are tolerant of all religions EXCEPT those that would call them to answer to a higher power or that would declare that their are absolute truths regarding issues of morality. They support freedom of speech if it is speech that they agree with. They say morality can’t be legislated, but that is what they seek do by silencing their opposition.

Yes, Donna, they have the right to their opinion. However, if that was an Obama march and conservatives acted that way, the right would demonize the hecklers as fanatics and unintelligent fruitcakes.
