Its funny. For the past many months I have assumed that the GOP was going to lose seats in Congress, and lose various state offices as well. And continued GOP mistake after mistake seemed to support my theory. Yet, I am reminded that however badly the GOP can screw up, and the immigration debacle shows the full extent of that, I also get constant reminders that the Democrats are more than eager and willing to show up the GOP in this regard. If the GOP avoids disaster in the polls November, it will because the Democrats are crazy stupid.

Of course the idea that there are other players besides Bush and the USA in this drama, with their own agendas, never even even crosses their tiny, narrow minds.

How can ANYONE excuse this? I know the video will be hard to watch but those who excuse these scum need to see this. On 9/11 I knew beyond all doubt that this was World War III, and I didn't need President Bush to tell me so. I also instantly knew that this was a war for our survival as a nation and a civilization.

Yet I don't claim any special genius or insight. It was just, you know, OBVIOUS.

Presumably, one links it to one's own views, i.e., "What would arouse such passion in me?" This goes to the heart of the "we must understand their root causes" line of argumentation.

I know I am rational. I know that as a rational person, I would never get this passionate, this fuming over a mere religion (or mere instructions from some religious figure).

So, all these people, chanting away, must have a real reason for their hatred, and if we could only understand it, then we'd be able to "get to yes," as one professor has touted it.

Calling them evil only obscures that path.

I think this path of thinking is why so many on the Left can blithely equate the Christian Right with the Taliban. Because "those" people will listen to their pastors and preachers, who tout a figure of imagination, therefore, they are functionally equivalent to the teeny-tiny minority of marchers who believe that Allah wills the death of America.

I agree that beaheading 100 people on video and blowing up more than 2000 soldiers is a far worse crime than blowing up 100,000 Iraqis. I don't understand what the liberals are going on about! Can anyone explain?
