Citizen Videos from 911

"OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!" Scenes of the day from the History Channel's 102 Minutes that Changed America. Of particular interest to me is the one from The NYU dorm where my daughter had lived the year before.

Also seen on 9/11, The Face of Evil:

Dr. Bob explains the portent:

The world we constructed–the Babel we lifted to heaven, created with sweat and savvy, hard work and hardware–proved but a house of cards, and crumbled to dust just as surely and disastrously as did the towers that brilliant fall morning. We know now the face of evil: we see it in the rugged faces of desert Beduins and the silk suits of cultured diplomats, in hooded beheaders and Hollywood elite. It is the face of the human heart, ripped open for inspection in all its ugliness and vile vanity, for all to see, if they will look. - The Face of Evil | The Doctor Is In

I wasn't changed by 9/11. I didn't even know anyone who knew someone who died in the events. It was an important event in American history, but people carry on about it way too much. If they really cared about that day, they would demand that our military or government go after the people who were responsible. But none of our military actions in the Middle East seem to be even concerned with Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates. We don't even know how the towers collapsed. What if Israel was behind these attacks? After all, it's Israel that needs our help in defeating the Islamic enemies. The Muslims in the ME probably wouldn't even care about America if it weren't for our financial and military support of Israel, or perhaps our need for more oil. The oil need however can be quickly eliminated by switching to better technologies such as nuclear power.
