The Road to Damascus

If you're working for something
--don't take no bets
It only seems like something
--cause you ain't seen nothing yet.
No, you aint seen nothing yet.

And you think Connecticut and the United States have a gun, violence, and maniac problem? Let Sultan Knish set you straight, you poor overly-protected little forest flowers.

Imagine the Crips and the Bloods, armed to the teeth by every country from Mexico to China, fighting over the ruins of California cities, and you get some idea of the glorious Syrian civil war being fought by the Brave Syrian People, most of whom at this point are about as Syrian as the Palestinians are from Palestine, in a conflict that will determine once and for all who will be ethnically cleansing who this year.....

And we, as befits the nation that Obama described as one of the largest Muslim countries in the world, happen to be in the Sunni axis, ensconced somewhere between the fattest child-molesting members of the Saudi and Qatari royals, the most vicious Turkish and Egyptian Islamists, and the Eurocrats looking to score oil deals with the former and arms deals with the latter, and political points with their domestic population of Sunni Islamists who have the unfortunate habit of blowing things up....
There are Sunni and Shiite militia members from neighboring Lebanon and Syria. There are Pakistanis fresh from Waziristan and Libyans looking for a good brawl. There are Scud missiles and chemical weapons and broken buildings, torn corpses and roads full of refugees fleeing for their lives. There are tanks and jets and fleets. There are armies and militias, truckloads of weapons and bodies, fire behind them and death ahead of them. And they're all hurrying, running and racing to Damascus..... And then the real killing will begin. -- Sultan Knish:

And the Israelis will be left to "sweep up" the mess. I hope they push them all into the sea.

Moslems killing Moslems. Going on for 14 centuries. To prove who is the most righteous and true followers of the Prophet.

Of course, they have nothing on the industrialized killing that periodically broke out in Europe, truly climaxing in WWI, when both sides claimed to be Christians. The Battle of the Somme. Which one?

WWII illustrated the clearest example of Nietzche declaring "God is dead" 50 years before. Although we don't yet openly declare it as such, I think that WWI was the end of the Christian Era, as the totalilty of that war destroyed the morals and idealism of much of the West. The fire of Western ideals is just guttering on embers now.

And yet the Israelis, the Jews, are the bad guys in the Middle East. Because they try to protect themselves from this.......madness. And madness it is.

Yet somehow, unmentioned is the fact that the biggest mass-murderer's are the US politicians who have bankrupted the tax-slaves they fasten on.
The likes of Bush, Obama, Linda Graham, Insane McCain, Lieberman etc.

Mr. Jones, let's not forget the bankers and megacorporation CEOs who bankroll the people you mention.

The politicians enabled the dishonesty of the bankers who gave out loans to people who would never be able to pay them back, chasing bonuses; but it's said bankers who actually did it.

No. The blame rests fully on the politicians. Those entrusted with the nation's weal and safety. The first one who took the bribe and became "reasonable" in the face of temptation, and the first one who looked the other way and tacitly condoned it. Those two.

Hell Joan, you know better than that. I know you do. This is much more serious than venal politicians, first or last.
