A lot of money and energy has gone into patrolling rivers in the last half of the 20th century, as if it is important. Well, when it is all you've got, I guess you'd think it was important. To me, what matters to the present and the future are the river patrols of today.

I know about dodging in Vietnam and believe me when I tell you that flying a jet fighter even once doesn't begin to come close.
You kids crack me up with the concept that being a pilot in the Air National Guard is "dodging."
I'm Berkeley, Class of 1967, and I remember world-class dodging.

The Democrats now deal entirely in soundbite mantras: "Tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans", "Medicare, Medicaid, Education and the Environment" (That one was Al Gore), "Bush Lied", "Help is on the way", "War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength", oh, wait. Not that last one. Yet.

And also notice how the factories are humming in the background of that picture, thanks to our brave men.
